Can this amp run on +40/-40 supply rails?

Shouldn't be any problem as far as I can see, but the maximum
output power will be lower, of course. A rough calculation would
be around 55W in 8 Ohms.

Maybe one should lower the value of R3 correspondingly, but
that is probably not necessary.

Change R3 to 39K

Because of the lateral MOS this amplifier will only do about 40W at 8 ohms with a simple ±40V supply.

The Hafler DH120, SE120 use about the same circuit and ±52V and do 60W/8R or 90W/4R(1Khz)
