opa549 and 2541 - Click HERE for Original Thread
millwood
has anyone tried them? the 549 is slightlymore powerful than the 541 and the 2541 is a dual power amp.

also the 549 is a 11-pin package, much better to heatsink than the 541.

the package of the 549 is equal to the package of the 541. I tried them both and they are a bit different. The 549 draws a little more heat but nothing to worry about. The 541 is more direct sounding, more edgy.

-thats excactly my experience too.. I like the opa549 best.
opa548 is also nice; very much like its older brother, a little cleaner/refined maybe (not so much power though)

i use input 4.7uF MKT and 470 ohm Caddock gold lead resistor and feedback 10K ohm Unknown brand gold lead resistor
470,10K sound is better than 10K,220K to me
more soft and deep (sorry my poor English)
DC is no problem (0.1mV,0.1mV)

;) ;;

PSU...
i use two 24V 8A SMPS and two 2200uF filter cap.

my 549 clone has no Hummm

i'm already make 548 clone
i replace 548 clone to 549 clone
549 sound is similar 548
i like 548.. my next project is 548 3 parallel birdge mode gainclone
with lundhal input transformer..
:)

Hi Popes,

Nice little things you have there...

If I understand you have 470R on input and 10K on feedback, right? Which gives the same gain as in the other case (22db). Is the sound much different?

How did you manege to get no offset? I currently have 23 and 28 mV on mine, with the + input grounded.

sorry my mistake fo DC offset..
my 549 clone has DC(0.7mV and 0.9mV) +input was grounded and no resistor - input to ground
my amp has only 2 resistors
i'll add 47K ohm - input to ground tomorrow

my feedback sound is little different
i feel more smooth and soft and calm

Very nice looking amps -

what do you use to drive the 470ohm input resistance and how do you adjust the volume ?

cheers

I'll have to revise this statement; now definately like the opa548 better. So my conclusion seems to be that if you don't need the extra current, the opa548 is best;)

Hello.

I just wondered if anybody could help me:
Im building a mono power amp using two paralleled opa 541.
any recomendations(sorry my poor english! I am a norwegian)
sould i use one as a slave?
Or two paralleled circuits with the same gain?

And... Recomended gain? recomended opa in gainstage?

Regards

PK.
