Can anybody help me with data on this IC:
It is a LAS19U , type of adjustable voltage regulator I think. (From Lambda??)
Is in a TO-3 package with 4 legs.
I want to use it for such a purpose, if possible, but will need some data on the pin-outs and voltage + current specs.
Thanx |

LAS19U: +4..+30V, 5A, 50W(Tc=90), -55..+135
LAS19U = UA78HGKC
The Lambda company is no more, but the LAS19U has been manufactured by Unitrode corporation as well, which is now a part of Texas Instruments.
On the TI website however, there is no findable data on LAS19U.
Also no data for the UA78HGCK.
/Hugo - the best he could find..;) |

Thanx for the info.
Are there any safe way of determining which pin does what? |

What I would try is the following:
Apply VERY little current and voltage (4V) with regulated PSU to different pins. Measure the other pins behaviour. Keep an eye on the ampere meter. Case will be ground or output.
I know this is not the conventional way to go, but I only tell you how I would try. Other people will be able to tell you which ohmic values you can expect between different pins.

What could be a possible use for the 4th pin?
Normally you got a: (LM338 for example)
1)Adjust
2)Vin
3)Vout - case
or similiar alocations. |
