| I'm just curious, what kind of lumen & contrast ratio are you guys able to output with these DIY projectors you're tinkering with? One of the above auctions ended at $187. Seems like you can pickup a used infocus SVGA projector for less than $400? Certainly there are other older svga pj's that would sell for even less? Why not just buy a full blown projector? |

But what he doesnt tell them is its not actually possible to just buy it for 200$, and if you google up the model and "200$" you will find the webpage. It actually says you will be entered in a drawing for it if you buy their ebook. Unless he is referring to a different site, (doubtfull) then it atleast has to be a matrix list. |

| its a matrix scam, you give em a small percent of the item price (200$ of 10,000$ projector price) and you get your name put on a list, then other people do the same thing and when your name gets to the top of the list (after enough other people have paid and had their names put on the list) they send you a projector. Then your name gets taken off and the next person under you gets one.. and so on. But in the end when they stop doing it alot of people end up ripped off. But if you get in quick or it keeps going then you dont have anything to worry about, but you do have to wait a couple months to get the item. |

I'm finally going to break down and make a power supply for my QA-2500, so I'm selling my Powerview 820 (besides - I need the cash). It's got the Infocus cable bus so you can use it with a computer if you want (you'll need a standard VGA cable, though) and it also plugs and plays w/composite and S-Video.

If im corect, thats where Alan used to get his ballasts from and then he got it from another site which sells it for 115$ but he sells it for 125$ and increased the shipping for his own profit.
I emailed hellolights a while ago and they told me that they are in search for an magnetic ballast.

I looked up the specs and it's actually SXGA+, which is still very good. Response time is pretty weak though. But since people have enough trouble finding a 14" XGA monitor, this is a pretty significant find.
Samsung is very open about sharing datasheets, so finding a controller for this thing might not be too dificult. |

Best source for UK buyers, but possibly good also for US residents - for example, all their 250W HQI lamps go for between £22 and £29 GBP (£1=$1.60 approx). Is this a good price?
I'm sure I (or other UK members) would be happy to ship privately / cheaply if there was an overseas demand.
I just ordered a 575W/95V HMI SE for £86, which is as cheap as anywhere else.....(still too expensive though!)
I've bought all my EVD 400W/36V halogens from them in the past at £8.50, which is the best UK price I've found. |
