Hi Mike,
this is different, did you add more output devs since last time I saw it? I didn't see the wood sides either! Good deal! |

I like the plexy on the backside. That's exactly the same way as I worked. Is it plexy or some other, better material like macrolon?
The wood is handmade I guess. But... no blue LED? :devilr:
Nice piece of work! Tell us how it sounds.;)

| Yes it is plexi-glass. The top is blood wood. |

Very nice, your one of the first who is actually posting some pics of their Aleph-X. The other members are to busy listening to the amplifier :).
I am still in the building proces, money is the limiting factor over here :bawling: |

Hi Mike,
what are the specs of the Aleph-X's? What kind of bias, what kind of voltage, what design changes to the 'original' hifizen and grey's schema? What are your resistor values etc?
You are one of the first with pictures so tell us something ;)
I am still gathering my stuff for a +/- 26V 144W at 8 ohm 7A bias 16 mosfets Aleph X. Still waiting for the blackgates, and elco's.... all other parts, heatsinks, transformers, pcb's, resistors, mosfet (all 75 are matched!) etc. all there. Can't wait to finish building it!

| There are now 8 IRFP240's. It is running @17.8 volts 8 amps per side. I think the rails have 120,000 uf a side with .05 Ohm resistors for some filtering. It is running unbalanced with Peters caps at both inputs with - going to ground. The feedback is 130K and 18k at the input. It sounds very nice. Thanks to all for your posts. Thank you Mr. Pass. |

| Mike is one of the first that post a picture of AX and I think Am the first one to see live this beauty(like the others amps that He has). It sound fantastic! but let me tell you A30 is not second of this one. Thanks Mike . |

Superb amp. i just finished my Aleph30 and gathering info to build the X. The schematic I got only shows 4 FETS per channel. You have six. How are they connected? Do you have a schematic?
What is the specs of the transfo you're using in Volt and VA?
Thanks in advance...
Bye... |

| The transformer is 600VA with 15volt secondaries from Victoria Magnetics. There are 8 MOSFET's per channel. It is the schematic from Grey just doubling the outputs. |

| Nice! Are those R-Theta heatsinks you are using ? |
|

Yes they are from the group buy.
Some notes:
I should have used a higher rail voltage. >20 volts maybe with a cap multiplier
There is a tradeoff between sound and power supply noise at low voltages.
I think the reason there are not more pictures is everyone is still tweaking their amps.
I know I will change things again. |
