Circuit boards For Aleph amps - Click HERE for Original Thread

I'm wondering which circuit boards are currently available for Aleph-60, Aleph2 and Aleph-X or who may be taking orders for a group buy.

I contacted Harvardian. He has no more Aleph 2 boards.

I apologize if this question has been asked. I did search but couldn't find the answers to my questions.

Thanks

;)

That is nice stuff. I suppose I could build Aleph 60s with Aleph 2 driver boards, with a couple of changes.

Do you know if these available anywhere in the U.S. ?

I ordered from Kristijan sending payment by wire. His boards are very nice.

I can agree with that, quality is great

you can't go wrong with Kristijan's PCB-Design stuff.
Highly reccomended.

How thick are those boards ?
moe29
1/8" - standard PCB thickness, i would guess.

all the boards i etch are that thick.

Then you must have some funny boards being double thick. I have never seen that thick boards. Sure you don't mean 1/16"? I am quite sure the boards are 1.55 mm or possibly 1.6.
AudioFreak
Standard PCB thickness is 1.6mm but I'm pretty sure they are available thicker and thinner than that.

Sure, you can easily get 0.5, 0.8, 1.5, 1.55, 1.6 and possibly some others but the question was which thickness Kristijans boards are and they most likely are 1.55 mm +/- 0.05 mm. He might confirm this however...
gtrmaker
The most common board thickness are .062 and .094 (inches)
But you can have the fab house make any thickness you like.

I have worked with boards as thin as .020 and as thick as .375
Obviously not DIY audio type boards.

Generally thickness is a combination of mechanical requirements
and stackup considerations; copper weight, layer spacing
(dielectric), impedance requirements, etc.

i shouldn't speak for Kristijan... if you are interested in his boards
check out his web site. If you still have questions, email him...
he responds to his emails!

i can say it's quality product.

Hi Labjr,

I've got a couple of extra Aleph 2 boards that I can let go at what they cost me if you still need them...

They were from the group effort located here:

Let me know via email...

The fiberglass base of the boards is 1,6 mm tick, and the total
tickness of the boards (fiberglass base + Cu) is 1,65 mm.

If Labjr decides not to take you up on these boards please let me know by e-mail as I would happily buy them as I need at least one more & would prefer two so that I have a spare to play with.

Personally I think the Alephs are simple enough to make it with only P to P wiring. Any more Alephs that I build will be done this way. O'll most likely build the driver stage on a small, thick copper plate using turrett terminals.
