l have this amplifier and its not working, fuse is fine ,l am stuck, l would love to have it working again. any ideas.
thank you

No lights light at all? Peel the cover off and get a good ohms (DVOM) tester, we can start checking things. Look/smell for burnt things first, usually on the heatsink.
munah
no lights, no sign of burnt things

I don't know what a 604 is, does it have a protect light? Need to find out if the remote is not working, it is protecting, or PS is damaged. Can you post a photo of the guts?

Have you confirmed that you have voltage on both the remote and B+ terminals?

With your multimeter set to DC volts, the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amp (not on the point where the ground wire connected to the vehicle) and the head unit on (so the amp will have remote voltage applied), touch the red lead alternately to the B+ and remote terminals of the amp. If the voltage is below ~11 volts, you need to check the wiring feeding whichever line is too low.
munah
there is 12.06v
Perry Babin
12.06 on both B+ AND remote?

Did you check the amplifier's on-board fuses?

Are you sure the model is an MRV-F604?
munah
l did, and the fuse is fine

There is likely an IC in the power supply labeled TL494 or something similar. Measure the DC voltage on each pin and post them below. The following is the datasheet for the TL594. It will show you how the pins are numbered. For all measurements here, you'll place the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amp.

there is an ic labelled:VE50A; KA7500B.there is no voltage ,thus 0volts dc on all 16pins.the ic is as on the picture.

You need to trace back from pin 12 to determine why you don't have voltage on it. It should have ~12v on it.
munah
l have traced back the no voltage to pin 12 and there is a component like a transistor labelled A916, Y-E43. what voltages should l expect.
Perry Babin
Which leg of the 2sa916 is connected to pin 12?
