Hi.
Currently I've been looking at plenty of amplifier designs, but now I actually want to BUILD something.
What I'm thinking is that instead of only buying the parts needed for a specific amplifier, I'll just buy bulk of all the transistors most often used, so that I can mess around with things myself.
So, here are the categories I want recommendations in:
PSU - pass transistor, accompanying sensing circuitry
Preamp - low noise transistors
CCSs - low-noise/low-beta, very stable
Amp internals - transistors for LTP and differential circuitry
Drivers - high-power transistors, mainly for 100-150W
I also want plenty of cheap but nice transistors that I can mess around with. I've found that the 2N5087/5089 work quite well on my simulator, as I rarely use currents larger that 100mA and they have low junction capacitance. Any other recommendations? I prefer that I have good matching PNP/NPN pairs when I experiment, just in case I need them.
Thanks,
