Just looking for short list of smaller full rangers that could be used in the car with help from a 8" midbass. Also where would be best for mounting them, a-pillars, kicks, doors, etc?

I have seen (and heard) the Adire FR125s in some kick panels, and they sounded really, really good....

Omes Audio BB 2.01 does a good job from what I've read/heard.
You need to cross it at 400 or above, which would be no problem since you're using a 8" midbass.
Mount them in your dashboard or something

How high does the fr125s actually play, if anyone knows? Looking for some 3" options like possibly one of the aura fr's , or possible one of the new tangbands.

Some people say the FR125s were fine without one, but I liked them better with a tweeter.

The only downside I found was that these are still only a 4" driver, and they really don't get very loud. It isn't much of an issue until you try and overcome road noise while driving.

the FR125 bundeling might cause difficulties in a car...

the BB2.01 (or a similar Tangband 2" in case you can't get a hold on Omnes drivers) do sound very well if crossed at 400Hz (EMMA champion a couple of years ago)

also the BB3.01 and the TB W3-1285 have had good reports in the Car&Hifi magazine in Germany.
