Have three of these units now , been thinking if they could be improved ?
For those not knowing what they are , used for Click / Pop removal from playback of vinyl.
They are fairly good at it but can be better ?

First they use the old 4136 Op amp , with odd pin out , has anyone made an adapter to use something more modern...cheaply ?

What about time constants of action , has anyone messed with to perhaps use multi level of pop /click removal ?

I do not want to reinvent the thing , but with all these DIY people, someone , I would think has tried a few mods ?

Please let me know if any ideas ?

Well first found these Adaptors :

Now these seem like right dirrection.

The problem is need simular or less current draw , what has been used , that would be faster & sound better ?

Spec of 4136 :

Anyone done this ??

Hello

There seems to be at least two versions of these Rev 1 & Rev 2.
The older Rev 1 has better bypass caps slightly differant version ICs etc etc.
The 6 ICs to right are the audio ICs , the first group of 4 are the process to remove / mute the pops.
Would think the ones on left would make no differance in sound quality of unit.
Been looking at subbing the RC4136s & TL082s for OPA2134s.

Any Ideas / Thoughts ?
