The fan in my tek 2465 is completely foobar, so is the small PCB that is soldered to the fan motor. The fan itself is labeled as being 10-15VDCm, and is a multi-pole motor that is driven by a small PCB with unknown characteristics, I suspect this to be fed by DC voltage from the main scope smps.
As this part is extremely hard to source, I have made attachments for a small 40x40mm 12VDC computer fan, my question is now if I can feed this fan from the supply the old fan uses, and if it will adversely affect the scope's performance when it comes to noise etc. I have no idea what voltage/regulation that is used, but the caps the fan saps power from on the main smps board in the scope are only rated for 20VDC, so the voltage must be lower than this. I havent dared to power up the board yet, as I have no clue to whether or not it will disintegrate without the other boards connected. I know however that the scope worked before I took it apart to fix the missing airflow problem.
Anyone have any clue regarding this scope and its fan/drive board? |
