what amount of power you really need - that's more appropriate question . |

power may be 20watts or more...anythings can be nice sonic and easy to build just to learn. |

You might also consider the mini-A Aleph which can be built for 10, 30, or 60 watts. You can actually scale it to what ever you want.

The 10watt version has 2 mosfets for output devices and the larger versions use a pair of out boards for 6 devices that comfortably make a stereo Aleph30 in one cabinet. The perfect pair of heatsinks are the Conrad 350x151.5's for the Aleph30. I've had 2 years of trouble free fun with mine.
There were tons of these built by members here, so there is a great deal of experience with them on the forum. The parts are super easy to source as well, including members selling matched mosfets.

David said it best... I just completed my 1st SS amp (10+ watt mini-A) using BrianGT's beautiful new black PCBs & largely stuck to his BOMs and couldn't be happier. With these resources (& getting tech-diy matched MOSFETs), mine was a paint-by-number build. Heatsinks & casework are the wild cards.

Hi David,
I didn’t know that the 30 could be scaled to 60 watts, that could be great for me.
(As the 30 does 40 watts into 4 ohms, I assume the 60 would do 80 . .)
Though when I click on your 1st link in post 5 here, it takes me to a post by BrianGT (#42) about a new version for balanced inputs . .
Was that your intended link?
And can the Aleph30 be biased up, to say 66%?
