BUZ71F specs? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Anyone have the specific datasheet for the BUZ71F? Can find the BUZ71 but not 71F.

thanks!

The BUZ71F is probably the same basic part as the BUZ71 except that it's fully encapsulated. The power dissipation and the current rating of the fully encapsulated parts is somewhat lower (~60% of the standard part).

What's the application?

The case is a standard TO-220. It's in a 2fet per side Coustic 190.

Thanks!

Outputs are TIP142/147 pair that spec at 100Vceb at 10A Ic, 20A peak.

If it's a standard case, the BUZ71 should work. If I'm not mistaken, they used IRF540s in the next series of coustic amps. If you have them on hand, you may want to try them. They're rated for more current than the BUZ71s.

Thanks! I'll give those a try.

There's also the BUZ71A,with IIRC,is rated a bit higher than the regular BUZ71.

I once repaired an amp that used the BUZ71A's,and they sent me the plain BUZ71's...The amp was not happy with those, and I had to re-order the BUZ71A's (and put an explicit note on my order form!)

Haha, I like that coustic series. 190 and 380. They actually look like amps. Had a guy offer me a 190 for an old electric golf cart back in 96 or 97... he stole the cart and never gave me the amp, what a ******.

Well, the Coustic 190 lives. Sounds pretty darn good. Only thing, the buz71F are plastic case. I stupidly ordered metal backed fets. Oh well, I fortunately had spare mica insulators. :)

Congratulations :)

thanks! I must admit though, using Perry's flowchart was like an Office Depot "EASY" button.
