what is the different using di box? or a mic? as pick up for guitar? how about the sound quality?

It depends on what you're trying to do, miking the cab feeds the actual sound of your amp and cab through the PA - using a DI box just feeds the pure sound of your guitar - it's really a question of what you want.

If you're using an FX pedal to give the sound you want, then a DI box is fine, just connect it after the pedal.

Personally I love my DI box! :D (in fact I bought a second identical one - Behringer DI120 two channel ones).

Just to confuse things further, you could even use both by "splitting" the signal between an amp and the DI.
