Resonator guitars - Click HERE for Original Thread
PhaseLockLoopy
Hi wonderful expert musical people :)

I am a guitarist that is confused by resonators -- these are the proper metal one's I am talking about by Dobro and National and a whole host of copy cat versions.

There is a confusing array :whazzat:

Tricone
Single cone
Set up for slide
Set up for pick ( I need pick)

many makes like Ozark and wierd names I have never heard before.

I read reviews and there are divided views on which is best.
Ozarks look great but dont sustain
Dobro's require a remortgage of your house - family - dog - sell the wife etc.

Then there is the range of biscuits in a wooden box which to me dont sound right.

HeeeeeEEELLLP ! :dodgy:

I'm seeking one that sustains - nice action for normal play (not slide) looks good -- doesnt mean I have to sell my family to science. Budget = £900 max --- $1700

thx

Al

I am really not sure because the posted link is completely unspecific. I found a really good article that gives a better explanation. The page may be found here:

www.google.com

Hope this helps
