Hi all. I recently acquired a Sansui TA-500 receiver. Very nice piece. Sound pretty good too. What would you recommend I do for an upgrade. ie. power supply caps, filters, ect. Also, can you give me a value for these parts? Thanks, John.:D

John,
I have to ask what you're unhappy with about with the Sansui as it is? What year is it and what did you pay for it?
The reason I'm asking is that if it sounds pretty good now, why do you want to modify it? I own a Sansui Integrated amp myself (AU-7900) and I can't think of anything that would have positive effect that makes sense. The Sansui's were a pretty nice rig in their day and still have a loyal following that is well earned, IMHO.

Best Regards,
TerryO

Thanks Terry. Well due to the age, I was wondering if the caps have degraded somewhat. I don't really want to modify it as much as just replacing the older parts, and maybe filters with new matched ones. John.
