Using a single channel on a t-amp - Click HERE for Original Thread

I had asked about this a long while back but the project got shelved

I've started again and picked up one of these http://www.richersounds.com/showproduct.php?cda=showproduct&pid=KENS-SX2000

My plan is to build a compact self amplified single speaker for holidays and camping

When I asked before it was suggested that i should use the left and right channels to power the tweeter and driver seperately

But seeing as the t-amp is bridged already would there be a problem in just using a single channel from the amp leaving the other channel open

The reasons for wanting to do this is one simplicity and also it leaves me the option to build a secong speaker and then connect it to the open channel

I want to build a portable guitar amp and have the same question. Can I use one speaker with nothing on the other channel?

If not, can I use some kind of a dummy load?

Thanks,

Carl

Based on discussions on this earlier, there should be no problem doing this, and it is even thought that you might even get a little more power out of the chip if only one channel is running.

Good luck with it.
