There is an actual PCB GB on the french Forum HCFR for the UGS preamplifier (Nelson Pass original design and CheefdeGaar "variation")
I have already post about that on the UGS Adventure thread.

But as announced in the thread, I open a new GB here, because the audience may be larger, and the original thread is not the ideal place to follow your request.
The GB is closing on Saturday 16th Feb 2008 00.00CET (central european time), terms of ordering and payment methods will be detailled soon.
As many of you don't speak or understand French, but have followed Cheef's "UGS adventures" on this forum, I have proposed myself to be the "hub" for this GB.
This actual GB is proposing the following:
- Complete PCB kit
The complete PCB kit to build the "All inclusive" UGS preamplifier described in the "UGS adventures" topic (and the corresponding French topics at http://www.homecinema-fr.com/forum/....php?t=29861708 , http://www.homecinema-fr.com/forum/....php?t=29854002 , http://www.homecinema-fr.com/forum/....php?t=29826494 which are still very active)
As we have worked on PCB panelisation, the kits are not splittable (but cheap !!). One kit is made of the following 13 x PCBs:
- 1 x PCB uC ; 180.10 x 63.4mm² FR4 35um 2Cu, 2SM, 1SilkScreen.
- 1 x PCB Prog uC ; 48.45 x 36.10mm² FR4 35um 2Cu, 2SM, 1SilkScreen
- 1 x PCB right audio mother board; 159.25 x 98.40 mm², FR4 35um 2Cu, 2SM, 1SilkScreen
- 1 x PCB left Audio mother board; 159.25 x 98.40 mm², FR4 35um 2Cu, 2SM, 1Silkscreen
- 1 x PCB XLR right; 163.6 x 48.30 mm²; FR4 35um 1Cu, 1SM, 1 SilkScreen
- 1 x PCB XLR Left;163.6 x 48.30 mm²; FR4 35um 1Cu, 1SM, 1 SilkScreen
- 1 x PCB Logical power Supply ; 59.5 x 34.6 mm²; FR4 35um 2Cu, ,2SM, 1 SilkScreen
- 1 x PCB Inputs Trigger ; 62.5 x 29.15 mm²; FR4 35um 2Cu, 2SM, 1 SilkScreen
- 1 x PCB Amps trigger; 62.5 x 29.15 mm²; FR4 35um 2Cu, 2SM, 1 SilkScreen
- 1 x PCB SubWoofer; 85.10 x 25.05 mm²; FR4 35um 2Cu, 2SM, 1 SilkScreen
-1 x PCB External Power Supply for all inclusive UGS ; 217.80 x 99.45mm², FR4 35um, 1Cu, 1SM, 1 Sérigraphie
- 2 x PCB UGSv3, 55.12 x 37.35 mm², FR4 35um, 2Cu , 2SM, 1 SilkScreen
All the PCBs are gold finished (oxydation free and easy soldering)

The individual price for the kit is depending on the global quantity dependant but with the actual interested people, we are around 40euros/kit, excluding shipment and bank or paypal fees.
Minimum quantity = 1 kit.
- Simple UGS PCB
You can order single UGS Pcbs (rev3), from the same design as above. These can be used for example for those who want to build a more simple preamp (with the same audio quality ) with a rotary switch and a potentiometer.
- 1 x PCB UGSv3, 55.12 x 37.35 mm², FR4 35um, 2Cu , 2SM, 1 SilkScreen
Note: 2 of these PCBs are already included in the kit above (they are the audio "heart" of the preamp).
Price : around 4 euros/pcb (actual price, global qty dependent),excluding shipment and bank or paypal fees
Minimum qty = 1 PCB
- Simple power supply for UGS boards
This is a power supply board designed to supply the UGS of your system.
It is interesting if you want to build a more simple preamp than the all inclusive (fo which different PS boards are supplied in the kit)
- 1 x PCB Single Power Supply, 162.40 x 62.10 mm², FR4 35um, 1Cu , 1SM, 1 SilkScreen
Price : around 6 euros/pcb (actual price, global qty dependent), excluding shipment and bank or paypal fees
Minimum qty = 1 PCB
JFETS
we know that populating these UGS is like a nightmare (especially to supply reliable 2SJ109 and 2SJ309), I want to inform you that there is a also a GB for these components on the same french forum (http://www.homecinema-fr.com/forum/....php?t=29870748).
The GB is managed by Serjac (amateur also) which has already supplied the French Diyers with 4 JFET GB since last November with no problem.
He has changed the deadline of his GB to match the deadline of the present PCB GB (Feb 16th 2008, 00:00CET)
He proposes the following grades and prices
- 2SJ109V at 7.72euros/part, min qty =1 pce.
- 2SK389BL at 4.25euros/part, min qty = 1 pce
I also propose myself to act as the hub for this GB, and to group for the non french speaking diyers the orders for the PCBs and the JFETs.
Shipment price is depending on shipment adress. I'll propose simple mail or registered mail with optionnal insurance.
I want also to advertise that I'm not making any business on this GB ! (PCB supplying or component sourcing is not my job). I'm only an "amateur".
If you are interested, please complete the thread with a list, with your pseudo, followed by your request on the same line + your country for shipment calculation and your preferred payment option.
I'll send you a PM to request the paiement (bank transfer or paypal, but I will charge you any extra costs or fees, I'll try to edit the thread soon to keep you informed)

I think that this GB is just for PCB set and Jfets, not for other needed parts.

As said in the 1st post, the GB is covering
- PCB kit for all inclusive version (13 PCBs including 2 UGS modules)
- PCB for UGS module.
- PCB for UGS single power supply
- JFEts for the UGS modules (2SJ109V et 2SK389BL)
But not the other components to populate the boards (none of them are hard to find apart the jfets)

About the request from the diyaudio members (private mails from the UGS Adventures thread or this thread), I have just compiled all the demands on an excel file,
would you have a check on the attached screen snapshot and let me know if everything is fine with your data ?
Please modify the ongoing list to make changes if needed.
Including HCFR and DIYAUDIO demands, we are currently counting
- 43 PCB sets
- 164 UGS modules PCBs
- 104 simple Power Supply
For the Jfets, I'll go back to serjac on HCFR to include your demands.

P.S. be careful on Bank transfer. It's happen to me twice that there are hidden cost of Bank transfer. Several time the local bank that don't know that until it happen. |

Last bank transfer that I did happen last year that I transfer money from Bangkok to US. I specific my bank that I will pay for the fee. However, it end up money transfer was short for about US$15-20 something. I do not remember exact number.
It seem that the money go from Bangkok to New York and then from New York to the local bank. The Bank in New York act as middle man and charge some fee for transfer the money.
So, I have to find US$20 bill and put it in envelop and send it over again to cover the cost.
So I just want to remind you that this thing can happen and hope you don't have any problem from doing such a nice thing on this group buy.
Banking process can be very complicate and the value of our money that being transfer is very small in banking point of view. Paypal fee seem more reasonable and much easy for our transaction. Just my 2C. |

Agreed with that, Paypal it the best and simplest way.
It should be the only payment mean.
That way, all fees are known. |

Within the EU, an IBAN/BIC (virement) bank transfer is without any costs and has other advantages in comparison to PPal.
Across the EU borders it's often cheaper to use Paypal, i still prefer web-banking.
Not that i object to PayPal, it's a handy gadget. |

Hello Jacco,
indeed the price of the kit could also decrease if there was much more orders.
As there are 2 panels for 1 set of 13 PCBs, the cost of NRE (Non Recursive Engineering) is higher than for the UGS modules and power supply boards for which one panel is used with many replicates of the same board (so the NRE costs are divided ).
But indeed it's not so expensive !

I strongly advise everyone , to check that too , before you decide to choose the bank transfer as a mode of payment.
With small amounts and lack of direct connection between your bank and Mr Vmoreau bank , the transfer fee (including fee of the third "connection" bank) could be higher (even twice ) the transfered sum. |

I'm sorry I don't understand very well your question about the UGS PCBs and the XLR boards.
The set is including 2 x XLR boards and 2 x UGS_boards for Left and right Chanels.
Have you read the post N°1 and the associated other threads (UGS adventures) ?
About my bank coordinates, I can't attach files with the diyaudio pm system.
To all who want to check with their bank the service cost for transfering money, please send me a pm and give me your current email adress there, I'll send you a pdf with my bank coordinates.
I'm pretty sure Paypal is a good solution because the price of the service is known in advance.
I should be posting tomorrow the final prices for the boards after a last turn with the pcb manufacturer.
I'll send the first request for payment for the end of the week.
Please be aware we will require fast payment (10 days maximum). I will be on vacation from February29th up to March 9th; if it's possible I would like to order the boards before my vacation.
