They produce laser beams of sound at high frequencies... They are big and ugly... They sound damn good to my ears... They are a one person ride...

There's a lot you could do to season them to your taste.

Those ESL's use about as simple a stator design as you can have. Perf metal one piece design with 3M foam tape as spacers. I used copper foil as the conductive contact. The clever portions of the design are my active crossover and my high voltage circuit.
