In preparing to build my first kit, I'd like to know --
What are your favorite tools? Which brand soldering iron? Which model Tektronix oscilloscope? Anything else?

The tools I find most helpful are a variac and decade boxes. Things like an o'scope are nice, but I don't start playing with one until I know the circuit is safe and stable.

Weller stuff has been nice to me. An adjustable pencil iron for most things, and a 200W gun for beefy connections that need a lot of heat. |
