Inheritance Sale - Click HERE for Original Thread
KevinR.
I have inherited a great deal of audio gear and components from my late father in-law. Being as these are somewhat rare items and that my father in-law was incredibly passionate about his hobby, we want to make sure that the components go to a user who shares the passion that he had.
Due to my involvement with forums for my personal hobby, I felt that the best course of action to find suitable homes for these items would be to find a forum that shared the interest of my late father in-law.
After looking around at various forums, I felt that your community best embodied what my father in-law was passionate about and I wanted to explain my standing to you rather than just show up to start selling things.
Thank you,
Kevin R.

I'm interested in the behringer ultracurve, the ecm8000 mic, and the triplett multimeter... email sent re: purchase

Ok, interest on the DEQ, measurement mic and multimeter has been overwhelming. At this point it is safe to say that they are spoken for.

I will sell everything on a first come first serve basis, to better facilitate that, and to make sure the process is fair, I think it would be better to post your requests in this thread. That way everyone can see what has been spoken for, and the time stamps on the emails will not mess up the order.

*NOTE* the interest in the DEQ seems to be for a DEQ2496, the item I have is a DSP8024. I did not realize that I failed to post the full #, and I do not yet have the ability to edit my posts.
Sorry for any confusion.

Kevin R.
KevinR.
All items are back up for sale.
Everyone was interested in the 2496, not the 8024. Once again, very sorry for the confusion.

email sent.

LC1As:
I have received quite a few emails about these (wonder why?;)) At this time the LC1As have not been catalogued or tested yet, they will be coming soon and I will post all the info here. Since I have not tested them, I am not sure of price, but I think they will be around $1600pair. I believe there are also 2 that may be in the original cabinets but I will need to look into that. I am glad that everyone is so interested, nice to think that perhaps things will find good homes (karma and all that  )

Ahh, yes, but maybe I am just posting that now so I can cover my bases and then post them for a lower price later.

You have to admit that they are rather rare, correct me if I am wrong?
mpmarino
Can't be too rare, you have a couple pair:clown:

I do not have many of these thins left, I have edited the list above with what I think is left, but I am out of town at the moment so I can not confirm.

I do have the Mic still, NIB and shipping to France could be in a "flat rate" box through our USPS. The speakers are much big and would have no chance of fitting in a flat rate. I am also not sure if I have a complete pair of Scanspeaks anymore or not.
I will check on all these wen I get back in town.
cheers,
Kevin R.

Okay, seems to be around $10 in flat rate ? I'm a bit lost in USPS pricing. If so, I'm OK for the Mic and waiting for scanspeak's list (might be sent in a larger box )

:) :)
R-Carpenter
Price on Eton and Scans?
Thanks.

The $10 rate is for flat rate boxes within the states, unfortunately a flat rate box to France is considerably more expensive at about $38. I would need to weigh the mic, but I'll bet just straight priority may be a bit less, but still about $28.

The Eton drivers are sold.
I only have one scanspeak left, a 25w8562 $100 + shipping

Also have a few other random things left, all plus shipping:
1 SHIVA $150
1 TA305 $50
1 HT30022 $50
1 Peerless 831727
1 Peerless 850145

I also have a box of Pyramid M59 2" dome drivers that you can have if you make it worth my while to box them up and cover the ride.

And one new Pyramid PW128x, $25

Almost all of the Dynaudios are gone, I only have a few left, all of which are used.
cheers,
Kevin R.
mgm31
Ok, I give up with the MIC, the total cost is too expensive ($78)
KevinR.
Yup, that is understandable, international shipping gets expensive very quickly.

As a note, on the "random" things above, the prices are a total guess on my part. I do not know much about those particular drivers and I am doing nothing other than a construction quality comparison with drivers that I know.
If anyone feels that the prices are off, please feel free to make an offer.
sholz64
Have you sold the D21/2? If not, I will buy them.
KevinR.
Nope sorry, the tweeters are all gone.

was just checking out, if the inheritance sale
was from the Nelson Pass leftovers,
in case he now finally is dead & lowered down

Because if, I had been much interested.
That man would have had some very good speakers .. among all his amplifiers

Some pictures of the inductors might be valuable. I can always use more, but at $50 per, I want to know what size/construction I'm getting.

I'll take the Behringer Ultra Curve Pro EQ $100 and Behringer Measurement Microphone ECM8000 $40.

In the spirit of your father in-law, they will be put to good use as I start to build speakers.

Just sent you a PM.

well, i also wonder what happened to the RCA drivers...or if a pair is still available..
KevinR.
Hey Guys,
Sorry, didn't notice the replies until now.

The D52s are long gone, I think I only had a few pairs of them.

The EQ is long gone, but I actually think that the sale fell through on the mic, it may still be here and I can check if you are interested.

And the RCAs have found new homes as well. (except for the pair I kept for my mother-in-law and the pair my wife and I kept. If anyone is wondering, they sound amazing) I had a bunch of original RCA LC1A repair components and re-cones that have all been sold except for one pair of LC1A tweeter re-cones that are in moderate condition.

I'm glad to hear that you left few of RCAs for personal use ;)

two questions - what was the price you sold them for , and - have you any literature regarding them ?
I'm interested in any original drawing for Olson's cabinets

TIA

If dw8083 doesn't want the mike on its own, I'm interested. Sent you a PM.

Zen, Yes sir, once we heard the LC1As there was no way we were going to part with all of them. The ones we kept for my mother in-law are actually in the original (although in poor condition) lowboy cabinets and are a real treat to listen to.

It turned out that there was a bunch of LC1A paraphernalia and parts. Some of the drivers were in poor (but working) condition and needed to be repaired, but we had the parts to do a full repair so they are all in use now. The prices varied a great deal, but everything was over 1k per pair, some of the better ones were well over 1k. My father-in-law had a friend who worked at RCA and somehow got his hands on original factory cones, still in the original boxes, still labeled, opening them was like opening a time capsule. I am not talking about just the tweeter cones (which we had, still have two of actually), but the actual full cone, brand new. Some of them sold for more than the drivers themselves.
It was pretty neat, and now they are being used all over the globe.

With each LCA driver or component that we sent out I actually copied what little printed info we have, which consists of an original 4 page black and white brochure listing specs, shows the cabinets and some sound graphs for adjusting the drivers. I contacted to guy who runs that one (and only) .mac site with the only LC1A info I can find, he is a nice guy but did not seem willing to send me his address so I could send him a copy to put up on the web. (he may have thought I was some kind of scammer)
So I do have some info, but I have no scanner to digitize them with. If you are interested in making the info available on the web, send me an email and we can arrange to get you a copy.
cheers,
Kevin R.
