Take a look here: This is Accurian Receiver.

The cost of the unit is $15 at Radioshack if u can get one (got the last display model in my neighborhood). About 10min of work to take few screws out (no soldering) and remove a board. The sound is surprisingly good. Only listened to it about 10min.
Is there a electronics guru who can improve the sound with minimal soldering? I would also be interested in changing case or appearance.

This is Class A/B not D?

Definitely not class D. I see transistors as output devices and emitter resistors.

Could still be a killer amp though. For $15 dollars I think it is a good deal: that amount normally doesn't buy you a toroid, heatsink, mosfets etcetc in case it fails to deliver sonic-wise.
