| I built this a while back out of some 3/4" all thread cut to 5' lengths. The shelves are 3/4" "Panaply" edged in screen molding. |

| That was left to me when my father died in '86. It is a CT-F950. I do like it alot, but really don't listen much to cassettes anymore. Was Pioneer high end back in it's day. |

Looks real good.
That looks like ballast on the bottom shelves. Is it cast concrete ingots?
The screen molding, is that aluminum channel?
Have you thought about using Panduit for running your signal cables?
I always figured if I were to do something like this that I would use pieces of copper or EMT as spacers between the shelves. Spinning nuts and aligning them down 2 ½ feet of all-thread must have taken a bit a patience. |

Must need to get my eyes checked. I’ve looked at this picture on three different monitors now and its obviously cassette tape storage. Now that I’m back on the monitor I saw it on 1st, it still looks like tapes. I must have had CRT fatigue on Friday.

Spinning the nuts on these was a lesson in patience. That and I've move and/or take out shelves over the years. A journey of 1000 miles begins with one step or in this case 2-1/2 feet begins with one turn.
I've used the Panduit before. You can get it in small widths that work well for audio cabling. This rack I just used velcro strips to tie the line to the uprights.
The screen molding is 3/4" width wood. So it worked well to cover the 3/4" Panaply. |
