Hey
I bought a guide and frensal lens 6x from Myimax.com
I built the box, I have one outer box and an inner box with the lens, the inner box moves in and out to focus but the picture could only be seen in really dark conditions, is there any way to brighten it up? |

hmmm..i hear theres no such thing as a 6x...
there is a way to brighten your CRT ray BUT it wil lower the life of you tv SiGNIFICANTLY..go to an electrician or someone who specializes in that. and if you so modify your tv you WILL see a difference but it will be NOTHING that can rival OHP/LCD projectors...check liams forums thats where i got all my info...and this 100 inc tv project is useless...i know because i have my box in my house and i will throw it out soon or use the parts for the OHP/LCD custom projector.

| You are yet another who has been royaly shafted! Sorry to put it that way. You paid $25 for a $1.50 fresnel lens. The people who you bought that from order from www.3dlens.com. Fresnels like that are not made for projection, so the quality suck. There is also no such thing a a 6X fresnel lens. It is very hard to make a 6X resnel as big as you would need it. One way to enhance brightness is to use a real projection lens. |

Can you be more specific what you mean here. You mean the 3x fresnel right up against the monitor and the projection lens at 13 inches or its FL distance? |

Apols for dragging up this old chestnut, anyone know any place on the net where the plans are available free? I'd like to build one for my old black and white portable... get that 1930s cinema feel to things. The lenses look freely available anyway.
Thanks
ps seen the people advertising this idea on E-bay?

I liked looking at their feedback, wonder how many actually get built? :whazzat: |

| You can get them here, but I don't see the point of making one, from what I hear you can't really watch it. |

Thanks for the link, I heard they werent very good either - however it might while away a few hours and seeing as its a handmade box I doubt the missus will ever let it come down from the loft anyway ;-)
