Dynacord MV46 as a compressor - Click HERE for Original Thread

I have a vintage Dynacord MV46 tube amplifier which I use as a preamp for my Neumann U67. I really like the MV46 (follower to the Eminent) as a preamp.
My question is: Since the MV46 has two balanced mic inputs can I connect my microphone to both of the inputs and use one of the mic amplifier as a pure preamp and the other one to get saturation/compression/almost distortion?
The two mic channels are joined together in the master section of the amplifier. I use tape out as a line out from the preamp.
Do I have to make any modifications to make this work properly?
How does the impedance react when two inputs are parallelly joined together? Do I need a trafo for adjusting the impedance?
Thanks alot.
