Does anyone know if there's a 100W DIY Tubes Guitar Amp / kit?

Thx

Hi,

I haven't seen one in this power class.

You really need 100 watts? This is 10,000 seat auditorium power

Cheers!

Just buy one! - a kit is going to be more than a commercial unit, assuming you could find one?.

If you really want to build one, and price isn't a concern?, try pricing up the transformers, valves, and HT choke - then see if you still want to build one?.

thanks.....sometimes building one is more fun than just buying one even though the cost might be the same....
also it is more 'educating' ...

i'm also planning to build a phono stage pre-amp (Pass Ono clone) which will cost me around $800, while I can find the used Pass Ono for $1200...

Go to www.metroamp.com George has kits for 50W and 100W Marshalls. They are very high quality and sound great. For slightly less volume and more natural tube breakup, you might try an 18W Marshall-type amp. Go here... www.18watt.com

thanks Gray....you've been very helpful...

Yeah, really nice site - but it's a lot of money (as expected) - be nice to build one though! :D

If you don't mind sourcing your own components, this site has reasonably priced turretboards for a lot of classic Fenders, Marshalls, and a couple others: http://www.turretboards.com/ . Buy a used cheap/broken solid state amp of a similar size for the chassis and cabinet, punch some holes for some tubes, and throw them all together...you'll be rockin'. :devilr:
