diyAudio Forums Archive > Top > Other Stuff > Everything Else Sony PS2 as a audiophile CD player? - Click HERE for Original Thread johnny555 Hy All, I have a old Jap PS2 and it wont play video (so what!) but it sounds half decent with a CD, now there are a lot of stuff about the sony PS1 to do this but i cant find a lot about the PS2, I compared it side by side with my old but good Cyrus DAD3, the Dad3 was better (natrualy!!)but what can be done to bring the PS2 up to speed?. I may try to sheld all the exposed chips (not the video ones-or remove the stuff that is video related?) or by pass the PSU for SLA batterys, or replace with a better PSU, ferrite beads any one??- mundorf caps on the o/p- I dunno!!- but any one else got any idears , some one must have tried this. lets hack boys!!!
