I have a Marantz CD-7 for 8 years. It's a great player but now having erratic read problem. Could this problem be due to the degradation of the laser power? If yes, where to buy the optical head and is there any part number or a proper description so that the supplier can understand? The Marantz agent in Singapore is changing hands now and service is in chaos. PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi Mike, don't worry the problem that you mentioned could it be a lack of lubrification in the mechanism, put grease on the pick up guide. The Marantz CD7 optical head is it the same of Philips CDM12.4 Mechanism (Philips TDA1302T)
