Marantz cd 273 schematic. - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hi

I have Marantz cd 273 and I´d to upgrade it. Does somebody have the Schematic?

Dac chip is a TDA1541 without A and without 14 decoupling caps. Should I add decoupling caps to TDA1541.

Thanks

The caps will be surface mounted on the other side of the pcb to the TDA1541.

 It’s an old cdp.

Take the circuit board out and look on the other side - the decoupling caps will be there! :D

You are right :)

How to upgrade my cdp without a schematic? Has Philips an equivalent Marantz 273 model?

PS: many time ago I made a NOS mod.

Hi.

Philips CD160 is similar

Thanks Andy.

Question?

Is it true? Or TDA1541 (without A) has internal pins 16 and 17 connected by a cap?

The TDA1541 and TDA1541A are not identical and cannot be substituted. (as the post refered to says)

I have a CD273 SE with a TDA1541 S !!

What you have done to your CD273?
poynton
Here is a copy of the CD160 manual.

The circuit is similar to the CD273.

Thanks i saw it. Philips cd160 seems a little better than Marantz cd273. In cd273 PCB
missed some parts from cd160 schematic.

I´d like to build a good OS CDP but seems I can´t replace TDA1541 by a TDA1541A

Now my problem is how to upgrade Marantz CDP? :smash:

Any ideas?

You should initially at least follow the 'standard' upgrade path.

Remove the output muting and any headphone amp.

replace caps with Black Gate , Silmic, Cerafine or Oscon as appropriate.

Separate the power lines and add extra regulators plus more transformers if possible.

Add new clock.

Search the threads - there are many ideas around.

---------------------------

It is possible to replace the TDA1541 with the "A" but some circuit changes will be required.

No room for a new transformer:

What IV stage and output stage do you advice?
