Pumpkin Preamp - Perfect for F4 - Click HERE for Original Thread
Zen Mod
there it is
schm and render of pcb enclosed

now I'm waiting for pcb protos and heatsinks ,just to tweak some values - this time I'm lazy (or spoiled?) to make Ikebana prototype

I don't like to use nag nag protoboards where I can't see connection, contrary to Oly......pcb wizz with 100 yrs of needlepoint experience

this preamp is in fact Steen's wish, sorta half UGS bla bla
seems that this days I can't make anything what Papa already didn't

why that reminds me on old story about pigs and pearls :clown:

there is proverb in my native........"there is no bad swill for good pig"

double sided pcb , in fact just several traces on upper plane

this preamp is intended (Steen again) even for F4 driving, with little more juice even headphones ; I'll certainly try it on my spks (sorta biggg headphones with 16 ohm impedance :clown: )
Zen Mod
I have (cunnin') plan to make nice shunt reg(s) for this plant

something not too complicated ;
inn fact - more in already (where,why,what ?!) known "good enough" style

they'll be here after thorough check ;
goal is to achieve DC stability ,to be able to use it DC coupled

in this way - without values , I think that will be less questions in first time......."why is this//why isn't"

you didn't answer...who's farewell party ?

btw- Korean girl is mad when you talk about two pumpkins?

so proto pcbs are in my dirty hands;
there are few minor mistakes,probably made in conversion from Oly's tango to mnfctrr's protel ; anyway- they're more than good ; nothing what few cuts with knife or dremel can't fix.

I still don't have few elements,and I'm not in so big hurry .....I'll wait few days for some resistors ,just because I hate to solder mess of resistors , if I don't have needed value.....

Hi Alek,
I would suggest to leave the o/p caps off the pcb - many of them are big and just take up blank pcb space - bipasses can easily be fitted later if desired/required.
I would also suggest the common practice of adding a resistor to parallel the WR2 to reduce the 16 mA current through it or perhaps a "slave" transistor for the job, etc ....
.... and perhaps a small cap across those "green zeners"!

regards ... jh
steenoe

I think that the layout posted earlier on page 1 is a good one. Its flexible enough to be used for "smallish" filmcaps or BG nonpolar's. If one wants to use big outputcaps, they can easily be wired offboard using the connectionpoints on the board.
