Just heard them on radio, from live in Australia in January 2004. .

vocals are sooo Rob Plant like. What Rob might still be, if he were Peter Pan like . . ?

guitar page like . .
ad libbing, psychedilc style . . . like Whole Lotta Love live in '96, takin to the max
Ok Bonham is not there, but:

****ing beautiful!
Gorgeous
orgasmic!
Dare I say it: better than any Zep live I have heard!
Shangri-La does exist!

Yes, amazing band. Seems well-recorded also. Great dynamic range, and good imaging (and that's from variable-bitrate mp3 files, I've yet to pick up the CD!)

yea they are really amazing - if you are incapable of noticing when the guitarrist isnt playing at the same speed as drummer or vocalist, or that it is totaly unmastered on the mixing sector, or that the guitars are tuned off to add to the "artsyness" yeaaa....
agothacles
totally unmastered, really?

Mars Volta are insane man!! I listened to their first album( the comatorium) for a whole year! I recommend all their albums.

Yep the comatorium album is awesome, essential listening IMO... I notice new things each time I listen to it. :)

I have yet to check out their other albums properly, they don't seem quite so accessible, but I've only listened to them a few times...
