Current Yamaha AV receivers (RX-V 559): what kind of output stage? - Click HERE for Original Thread

What kind of output stage and DAC does Yamaha currently use?

I peaked into an RX-V 459 and 559, and from what I could see through the lid, they are using 5 pin ICs. These could be real ICs or transistors with built-in bias diodes. Anybody know?

Also, there was an SSOP28 chip with the BB label, but I couldn't read the model. I assume that was the ADC, as they'd surely use an 8 channel DAC.

Background is that I need a cheap base for a 3-way active XO, and I like to modify my DACs and output stages.

Probably Sanken SAP output devices, in which case the output is most likely an EF stage.

Search for the service manual of them might help.

Yes. if I had found a service manual on the web, I wouldn't have asked.

I also thought that those were SAP devices, except the writing on the PCB said ICxxx. I couldn't read the writing on the thingies themselves, unfortunately.
