| the empty holes here...... Will be buying a couple plate amps. Also what tweeters for top end helper. Thanks. |

Seems like we would need to know the volume of the bottom chamber and a little something about the other drivers there.

| Dimension is 32"x16"x11" - Cabinets are sealed but I can make it ported by cutting a hole rather easily. I am open for anything (inexpensive is even better.) The fullrange drivers are no name vintage alnico Japanese speakers. |

| are you putting subs in those lower cabs? What is the range of the top drivers and are they right for OB? I like the looks. Cheers. |

Well, this is what you'd get out of an Eminence Beta 12A in that box, with a 4in diameter, 3in long port installed, with it's centre 3in up from the internal base. The Eminence units are very good indeed IMO -loads of excursion, bomb-proof build, and exceptionally well engineered. Not particularly expensive either. Should be pretty easy to XO to the upper dipole unit as they run up a fair way pretty smoothly, and their lower roll-off should match to room-gain nicely. Given their near 100db sensitivity 1w/1m, the plate amps are going to be idling.
As for tweeters, try the Fostex FT17H horn loaded tweeter. Nice unit. Again, not very expensive & the sensitivity is pretty high at nearly 100db 1w / 1m. Better to have a high sensitivity than a low -it's easier to cut things than to boost them. |

DJN, the full range are good for around 60hz ~2000. They sound quite nice in OB.
Hey Scott, since the Eminence Beta 12A are so efficient, perhaps I can just put a large choke in them and cross them at ... says 200hz and run them parallel with the fullrangers without plate amp. What do you think. |

| That's what I'd probably do. Unless you're thinking about going active, I can't see much point in using a plate amp in this case, as we're looking at near 100db efficiency levels for that section. |

Though designed for a horn sub I was shocked at how well the Lab12 Generation II from parts express simmed. A little pricey at 175ish dollars but if it actually performed this well...

A lot cheaper (75ish dollars) but looks kind of nice. Selenium 12PWS5-SLF.

| Very impressive. I'd want to roll the FR of the LAB12 off though (which is what I did for the Eminence) or the room is going to grab that LF and run with glee. ;) |

Hi Justpoor, are there any numbers on the back of the drivers? I am surprised they only go to 2 Khz. The cones may be soggy, could be tweaked a bit.

Geoff, actually they probably went up to 5~6000 - it was typo.
Scott, How do I tame the 12's sub down to match the fullrange. My fullrange are only 93~94db where the emminence are 98. Thnx. |

| Add a resistor or LPAD in series with the (bass) driver. Try a 4ohm to start out with & adjust the value to match / taste. |
