Thanks Jan-Peter. That was a fast answer (24 minutes)!
I am very curious to see these HG jewels, this is fun.

Great to see new design soon!
Same size?
Stef...
Same size, same way of mounting and same type of connectors.
A small list of changes;
- Audiophile version of the UcD Modulator (small PCB).
- Audiophile decoupling capacitor, 220uF/100V. (with own printing)
- PSRR improved of the local power supply regulator for buffer stage.
- Audiophile AC coupling capacitor in input stage.
- THD further reduced.
- improved temperature stability.
- optional a soon-to-be-released extra 12V full discrete regulater with extreem good specs.
- and we will use the LM4562...we love this op amp...
It will be our state of the art product.... 😎
Cheers,
Jan-Peter

Blimey Jan you boys have been busy, its getting exciting🙂
I'll certainly be looking forward to seeing these, will there be a big difference in price?
No discounts for the faithful Hpex customers

Hehe, I sense my 400AD's going to my back channels or something... 😛
Wonder what the pricepoint will be.

And since LM4562 is cheaper than AD8620, then the price must be lower on the uber-UcD 😀 - NOT ?
Lookin' forward to the release.
Dear Jan-Peter,
Thanks for the news!🙂
Could you tell us when these HG UcD will be available? and maybe a little idea about new prices?
Thanks!

The "audiophile" caps will probably be the main contributor to the price hike. Those 220uF 100V guys won't be cheap...

Indeed those Audiophile rated caps are not cheap....

For sure not when they are having our own brand on it..😀
We have taken our time to review a lot of different brands capacitors, the caps what we have choosen performance extremely nice. To be honest we are very happy to found such a good performing capacitor.
The complete list of changes are;
- Audiophile version of the UcD Modulator (small PCB).
- using Mini Melf resistors and NP0 capacitors on critical places in the Modulator and around the buffer op amp.
- Audiophile decoupling capacitor, 220uF/100V. (with own printing)
- PSRR improved of the local power supply regulator for buffer stage.
- Audiophile AC coupling capacitor in input stage.
- THD further reduced.
- improved temperature stability.
- all potentiometers are Sealed Bourns 3362 P.
- optional a soon-to-be-released extra 12V full discrete regulater with extreem good specs.
- and we will use the LM4562...we love this op amp...
UcD180HG extra updated;
- better power FET, lower gate charge for faster swichting/lower THD.
- the same type of output coil as the UcD400ST/AD/HG
Because of all these changes we have to increase the sales price to;
UcD180HG --- EUR105.00
UcD400HG --- EUR 150.00
In about 3~4 weeks we will have them available.

Jan-Peter
Hi Jan-Peter.
I have bought my Ucd400 6.1 recently directly form Hypex and, until now, I have not used it. They even are in its boxes.
Would be possible a change or upgrade to the new version?. How much it would be?.
Thank you.
Ignacio.

I think that's an amazing price point. When reading audiophile I was expecting multiples of the current price! 😀
Are the new UCD's "drop in replacements"? I mean same measurements on the T-shape?
If so... expect an order soon! 😀

Hi Jan-Peter,
So what are the subjective improvements with regards to the sound after all the modifications?
Will the old version still be available? I'd like to see what the hypex modules can do compared to my SET. And if the subjective difference is not all that big I'd rather go for the old model.
Regards,
Bas

Perfect! I just ordered the 180ST's intending to do the LM4562 swap, and haven't even hooked them up yet. So, I have to conclude that Jan-Peter was simply waiting for me to order before introducing the upgraded modules 🙂 You guys can thank me as you see fit.
I will probably move the ST's to woofer/sub duty, and get the new HG modules for my mains.

Will it be separate module or integrated to power supply?
Price?

It will be a seperate module, what will be a drop in replacement for a 7812. However we have an extra sense input for regulate the output voltage. You can buy them seperate for using it in other 12V applications or upgrade a standard 7812 regulator.
Cheers,
Jan-Peter

Seems that this is the trend right now - everyone has to have a high performance shunt reg.
Consider making both -12V and 5V as well.

It will be a +12V and a -12V version, some prelimenary specs;
- noise 2nV/rtHz (a MC7812 is doing 200nV/rtHz)
- 20kHz bandwidth noise 0.280uV
- PRSS >>100dB
