Towards the bottom of the page there is information on how a patricular tda1541a distortion problem was diagnosed, and fixed.

I've replaced lots of '1541s. First time I have heard of the caps going bad. Although, I have seen many other instances of 'lytics drying out from being too close to a heat source.
