Please help/ideas on my 7" Lilliput build???

Hi I have just purchased the 7" Lilliput with the VGA (the good one)😀

Can anyone please advide me accordingly:

Lens:
1) What is best for the Lilliput considering I have a smallish room, the PJ325v Varifocal Triplet Lens, the 135mm Long Throw Lens, the 80mm Lens Triplet, or the Varifocal 4 element lens?

Light source:
2) 400w or 250w metal halide light? I was thinking the 250w would be adequate - and does it need to be double ended? Can some people plz check out some of these english websites and give opinions for the light and ballasts (I dont know anything about ballasts - plz advise):

3) How is everything wired together, I really dont know :xeye:

Lastly can anyone advise me on the following, I was thinking about 7" x 10" high quality fresnel, condenser lens, front surface mirror?

I want it to look like I_eat_flowers projector perhaps???

Can any English people advise me on where to purchase suitable electrical other bits I need that're compatible over here?

Any help very much appreciated - sorry this is a long thread!!!

more details needed

The projection lens you should use depends on the size of the LCD (7"), the throw distance (smallish room?) and the size image you want (unknown). Please get out the tape measure and supply some real numbers!

The lamp power has to be high enough to give you enough light for the image size. If you make a 70" diagonal image, then 250 Watts is plenty. If you make a 120" diagonal image, then 400 Watts may not be enough!

So think about where you want the projector to sit, how far that is to the screen (or wall), and how big an image you can view without eye-strain or neck injury. Most people have a problem viewing screens that are wider than they are distant.

Thanks for the reply Guy Grotke.

Well my room is small, the projector would be about 3 meters perhaps from the wall and would not be ceiling mounted, the image does not have to massive, just a big image without straining. Money is not particularly an issue :smash:
just want a good lens.

Can you help with this info?

projection lens

I would recommend the DIYprojectorCompany.com triplet-80:

327 mm fl, so you would get about a 1.5 meter diagonal image.
80 mm diameter, so it will not suffer from too small an aperature.
$29.71 US, which is a great price for a projection lens.

A 450 mm fl long-throw lens would give you about a 1 meter image, which might be too small?

Here's the math so you can explore the options yourself:

1/focal length = 1/LCD to lens + 1/lens to screen
Magnification = (lens to screen) / (LCD to lens)
Image size = Magnification * LCD size
