I'm in the middle of building a pair of full range TL loudspeaker with Tangband W3-871S.
Does anyone have HobbyHiFi 6/2004 ?
I would like to have Lancetta - CC46 from HobbyHiFi 6/2004.
Can anyone scan this article and send it to: shakira@email.si
thanks,
Leon

A W3-871S in a TL looks like an interesting project. The enclosure is about 50 inches long. 50 inches seems to big for this driver, so I guess that the TL length is less than 50 inches. I used babelfish to translate the German and they say that response is only -8 dB at 50Hz. I did not think a single driver could get down that low.
The slim design looks sharp.

I don´t have the article but it is an unfolded TL that has 2 helmholtz chambers for flattening out the frequency response.
Exterior measures and parts as shown in the link.

Wow, those look good. I've got a couple W3-871Ss lying around, maybe I should slap a pair together as well... There you go giving me ideas 🙂.
kirc, I think here is the article you'r looking for..

ok, teh rationale is , given the length of the box, some standing LF wavwes can be expected and in order to avoid that a bass trap was included, i am right?😕 😕
All,
I've build the Lancetta's and I'very excited about the result(and the sound).

I realize this thread is a billion years old, but the design still seems awesome 🙂
If someone has the plans or a scan of the article it would be very kind if you could mail it to me. Thanks!

I built them from birch plywood, and I always found them a tad "boxy". The membrane/box surface ratio is just extreme. But every good fullrange concept is worth a try, and this is one, IMO.
thanks both of you... I really like this speaker and it'll be my next project 🙂. Doesn't matter wether they beat my tabaqs.. just want to have some fun 🙂.
