stappvarden,

I would like to see it anyway, all designs come with some very good ideas
and I invite you to show your work. No shame to build it in a coconut can
the only thing is, be proud of what you have made.

rebojorge,

I have already listened to the last prototype, same position of components,
and same values, the results were good, better than what I expected at first.

The first impressions are here:
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29739&highlight=

And the schema - tic is here! {Last final version... at this time...}

The inspirations came from:

Nelson Pass and the balzenpre {The only one and the best !}
I discovered that Bob Ellis already published a one CCS version
Henrik for his X ed versions and his help with SIMetrix

Thanks to:
Francois Gagne in Montreal and his Zen V4 for the listening scession.

Where are you, Francois ?? "Comment va-tu ?"

Regards.

Alain.

Alain:

I also just finished my X-BZLS (not yet a CCS-X, because Nelson think running balanced, they are similar!).

For mine, it is better than the original BZLS, but I still like A-P 1.7 better.

How your's sound? The case is also wonderful! Did you hand made yourself?

Thomas

rebojorge,

The Schema - tic, in better definition,

Power supply +60 volts and -9 volts
{-9 volts adjustable by a LM317 in the separated Power supply}

The bias is set for 2*40 Milli amps and can reach 2*50 Milli amps
The zenner 1N5235 is a 6.8 volt 1/2 watt and the beauty is I only use of IRF 610's

All chassis are done by hand with a good file... All T6061 Aluminium
thickness: sides 3.2 mm back 4 mm, face 10 mm, foots are 3/4" round
my only "tool" is a Drilling machine... it works also as a "milling machine"
:smash:

I'll send more if you like...

Hope to "power-on" next week!

Regards.

Alain.

Really nice work Alain! I have been tossing around the idea of doing something similar to your effort, but I haven't got any further than doing some circuit modeling in Spice. To see how ridiculous I could get, I built a model for a CCS-X-CC-BOSOZ ... or in other words, a constant current source supersymmetric cascoded bride of son of zen. I'll try to get around to posting my schematic sometime in the near future.

I read you earlier listening impressions and have become quite intruiged. I look forward to hearing what you think of your finalized preamp.

Cheers, Terry

Nat Riscica,
A good file, a lot of time, and ideas from all equipments I have seen.

Brian Donaldson,
Thanks.

metalman,
Looking forward for your design ; or your SIMetrix schematic...

Thanks to all for the good comments ; I don't want to compete with any one. I am just trying to make a good setup ; and it's easy with all the ideas floating around the Passlabs forum. I have to say that if I can make an other version it would be different....

I hope to finish this week end, and be able to enjoy some old vinyl...

PS: I made a mistake in post #12 : about the original inspirations:
it's Grey Rollins one CCS-Bosoz, not Bob Ellis, my apologies.

Regards.

Alain.
