Does any one here have experience with the Tangband w3-926's? How do they compare to the famous 871's? I just noticed them on the nuera site. they look simmilar to the 871's but a little cheaper and less pretty visually.

I have been contemplating building a vertical line array of
fullrange 3" drivers for small club venue PA use. It would be
a simple 2 way system with the 3" vertical lines + subs. The
sub would be crossed over somewhere between 200-250 Hz.
I figured I would need at least 1.5mm Xmax drivers for
the 3" line to be able to adequately produce enough SPL before distortion down to the 200 Hz range in a PA application. I couldn't find many reasonably priced 3" driver candidates to meet that
1.5mm Xmax criteria. The only TB I see that meets that is the W3-993s. I don't know of any distributors that carry it though. I thought I may have found an inexpensive candidate
from MCM. They have a 3" full range (Their part# LS00119 with no manufacturer brand indicated) that they publish as having 1.5mm Xmax spec so I ordered just a few to check them out for SQ. When I got them I saw that they were Monacor speakers so I double checked the specs with those published by Monacor & found that MCM had deceptively published the Xmax P-P value rather than the proper Xmax one way 🙄 . Their SQ is acceptable though for what I wanted them for.

Hey Dave. What are your special drivers?
