Hi
I have been looking for these a long time
There are no datasheets (anymore). I even contacted Philips Semiconductors (internally, I work at Philips).
I have some typical application scheme's, these may help together with the pinout given below.
I think the 2705 equals the 3523.
They are used in Marantz 10, for example. Also CDM12 uses it.
It generates SPDIF from I2S, often used together wioth SAA7310
A Crystal CS8402 can do the same, if I am right
best regards
Re: I want your typical application scheme's
Hello
Send me a mail (offline) with your address, I can send a hardcopy, or eventually scan the relevant parts of the Marantz circuit
regards

Hi
Sent a JPG, about 500k
anyone else interested ?

Hello
I have received the schematic.Do you have all schematics of that.I need the PHILIPS CD schematic just yet.

Re: Hello
Hi
This is all I have, it is just a typical example
PCF2705 has been used many times tohether with SAA7310. I think all the circuits are the same
What exactly is the problem with your DC player and which type do you have ?

Hi MDLover
This looks like you have a scan taken from a spec, do you have any more info from that same spec ?
Would love to receive a copy
all the best
Hi Guido,
The pic was scanned from an article on "Elektor Electronics" published 1992.
The article was about modifying an Philips CD player (adding SPDIF digital output). That's all I have about this chip. 🙁
Cheers

OK, clear enough
I even may have that article.....
on a wide range of PCM decoders the internal parts of PCF2705P and PCF3523P to form a S/P-DIF (DOBM) protocol for an external digital output socket are integrated.
If in cd players are PCM decoders in use without this integrated logic parts (like SAA7310/SAA7210 e. g.), and a digital output was wanted, the above mentioned parts then additional necessary.
Philips CD608/618, Grundig CD35 and various other uses this S/P-DIF transmitter parts.
But I don't understand, why no detailed datasheets from Philips Components/NXP was published until now.
