Hi,
Anyone have an idea of what I can use to replace the bias diode part no. 070-046 in the MC2100 driver board?
Regards.😕 😕

I removed the bias diode from the PCB and measured its resistance while holding it very close to a hot soldering iron and watched the resistance go down as the temp went up - I suspected mine was causing the left channel PA transistors to heat up, but now that the amp is working I have to conclude that the diode is ok.
No one seems to know what this part can be replaced with - may have to contact Mcintosh to find one. If you find the part id please let me know, too ; I'm sure that lots of other folks are also interested
thanks, Grant

You can try MZ2361 from Motorola which is still available. It is listed as a replacement in Mcintosh's semiconductor replacement manual. Hope this helps.

Did you get hold of any MZ2361s and, if so, did they work? If you were unable to find any let me know as I have some and would be glad to send you a few to experiment with. I really don't know what they are intended for but got them at the Dayton, OH Hamfest super cheap, I don't think the guy I bought them from knew what to do with them either. bill@cohutta.com
