You and me both mate.
I can't find one anywhere. There's a little info on this thread about modding a sony mech to use but that's all I've found out.

Hi Christian!
I'm posting here only because it's the most recent post from you in this website.
I already know your great website but I'm a newcommer here as you may check, and my specific interests do match a lot of yours.
Sorry for using this way and not opening a new post yet, but I just wouldn't know how to call it (my doubt is about a very special motor unit which may be for ideal turntables, most probabily).
As a novice I'm not allowed to e-mail other members before placing a few posts, can you e-mail me?
Cheers, JPB

It can be replaced by samsung SOH-OT3 (SOHOT3)
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Large photos of a head Samsung SOH-OT3 can be looked here :

The same can be tried with a head Toshiba TOPH7833

In newer Kenwood DP-8020 there is a head Sony KSS-152A
It is possible to replace a head just as in this device :

Vasiltech, thank you very much. I (and quite a few others) have been waiting and asking a long time, and you're the first person who's had any info.

Lee.

Hello,
I thank you, too!!
We would like to try to put in the Sony KSS which is a replacement type of the samsung laser unit. Do you have any further information about the wires and where they should be soldered? Do you have manuals or schematics of the laser units?
Cheers

Vasiltech,
thanks a lot for these informations. I still have questions:
1.) The Toshiba TOPH7833 is said to be compatibel to the KSS152A. Would that mean that even a KSS152A is worth a try?
2.) From the photos it's not completely clear (to me ...) what you did with the trimming potentiometer for the laser power. Did you leave the original Kenwood trim pot on the foil and remove the trimming potentiometer on the Samsung SOH-OT3?
Cheers,
Thomas

KENWOOD DP-8020:
To restore the head of KSS-152, I used as a donor KSS-150B, that is, its metal block on which the diode and matrix. Suspension from the lens and the focus and tracking coils leave home with KSS-152, otherwise it will not work. This optician (old style) it is difficult to find, but still possible. Applies, for example, inexpensive models SONY, and many other low-cost devices.
There is a risk that does not work, but generally, the procedure ends successfully, the main thing that at the time of transplantation loop, not fallen off the matrix. And you must be sure that the donor worker. Several times did this reversal, and it works fine! Trimmer also put a donor!
In KENWOOD DP-8020 did not have to make adjustments, it all fell like a native!
Next in line SONY CDP-X333ES, but there will have to make a separate RF amplifier.
