Hi guys !

Tonight, I began to search for the perfect LCD panel. (Easyness to dismount, good image quality etc....)

I went to local Staples store and tried Samsung Syncmaster 151v which seemed to be a nice one. I mean that it has only a little flat cable which need to be lengthened. No big deal considered it's one of the less expensive that can be found in big surface stores.

I'm aware of NEC panels which a lot of people here are using but it would help a lot of people to make a list of the best lcd panel to get. (rated on easyness to dismount, image quality, response time etc.)

If you're one of those who made their own projector, it would be great to put on the list the brand of LCD panels you're using and rate it.

So here's the first one :

1. Samsung Syncmaster 151v
Pixel Pitch (mm) : 0.297
Maximum Resolution : 1024 x 768
Brightness : 250 cd/m2
Contrast Ratio : 330 : 1
Viewing Angle ( H/V ) : 140 / 120
Response Time (ms) : 25
Interface : Analog
Horizontal Frequency (kHz) : 60
Vertical Frequency (kHz) : 75
Color Supported : 16.2 mil.

Pro :
Not expensive
Cons:
Requires to lengthen a small flat cable

Only a little flat cable? Hehe try to lengthen it and get back to me!:) It's not only a little flat cable, it's a freakingly tiny flat cable with connections separate by the width of a single hair! There are many monitors out there that don't have that sort of connectors and it would be wiser to get one of those.

I have an Envision 5100e, the response time is 50ms but not destroying ~$300 LCD monitor is way more important than just the response time, at least it is my opinion!

hehehehe !!!:) My lack of experience is betraying me. However, you'll easily find flat cable extension in Digikey catalog. The flat cable problem is now less a concern.

The purpose of the list I'm trying to build is mainly to find easily dismountable lcd panel and hopefully, give the chance to avoid cable extension etc...

Thanks for your feedback !

Now, I need suggestions !

It's very interesting that for sure but they're not available in quantities :)

The motivation under the creation of this list is to gather informations about particular LCD panels that people can consult to help them to choose the right panel based on their own criterias.

Don't worry, your comments are appreciated !
