A long time ago I was asked by someone on this board if this schematic was available. I just discovered a website on which it is yesterday. The website got the authorization to publish it from the designer (Helmut Becker).

So, the schematic (and everything else you could need) is here : http://www.jogis-roehrenbude.de/Verstaerker/PCL805-KH-Amp/PCL805-KH.htm

It's a very good headphones amplifier as is, at least for the mid to high impedance headphones (120ohms and above). Well, maybe it could be improved for low impedance ones. With other tubes ?

Hi,

I would like to build this nice amp. I have thought of a few improvements regarding the power supply and would like to ask for your opinions.

(1) Is it possible to improve the performance of the amp even further by implementing voltage regulators (e.g. series LM317 as tracking preregulator - Using 3-pin regulators off-piste: part 4) in the power supply?

(2) Adding to this one could implement a regulator such as the 21st century Maida (http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/tubes-valves/209067-21st-century-maida-regulator-17.html#post3515776) for the anodevoltage. Do you think this could also further improve the performance?

(3) PCL805 tubes need current controlled heating. Thus, I would like toimplement one LM317 as current controller for each tube. Does this have a positive effect?
