Hello I have 2 nichicon vt 1000uf 63v capacitors that are leaking. When I tried to research them I could find no info on the vt series. I was told bt series replaced it but they only go up to 50v and I need 63v rating. It came out of a alpine 3545 and was wandering if anyone could point me in the right direction of a suitable replacement. Thanks
You can go higher voltage. When I need to replace caps like that, I put in the uf at Mouser and Digikey, then the lead spacing (distance between the wire leads), next the max diameter that will fit on the board, and the max height. Then I look at the voltages that it says are available and pick one that is equal to or higher than needed. Also I prefer the 105 deg C caps over the 85 deg C ones.
Just do the search and put in Nichicon as the manufacture, you should be able to narrow down the results to what you need. I just guessed and found this UBY1J102MHL Nichicon | Mouser. Give it a few trys, you will get what you want!
