in search of a "low q" 8" sub

I'm looking for a "low q" 8 inch sub to be used in a very small passive radiator sub design. I want to try and keep the whole thing under 10" cubed using 3/4" mdf. It needs to handle at least 100 watts rms and have good excursion. Any and all suggestions (except any about using a different design) are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Sean

Newbie question - Port size for 14 Liter box (11" cube)

I'm using winisd and get very long tubes for the 14 liter cube you sugest (11" cube), tuned to 28 Hz (Winisd sugests 92cm long port, with a diameter of 6.8 cm)
Am I making something wrong? How are you going to put a 92 cm long tube in a 28cm cube? You posted also winisd plots, so can you tell me what vent sizes have you obtained?

Thanks

Fernando

For a cube this size the tangband W8-740 is probably the best choice. There are other very nice 8" subs as well but most of them like bigger boxes. For a box that is a little bigger an Intertechnic MDS08 is a good contender too (nice kevlar membrane, casted chasis).

Fgomes: for BR in such little box, try calculating 3 br ports 20mm internal dia each( copper 22mm water tube?) Raise the Fb to 36Hz, tubes will be approx 130-140 mm long. Is that 14 L nett??
