Hi guys ,

I want to build a pair of 3-way economic reflex speakers ( ... possibly ) woofer 15 . " My room may contain speakers with measures ; height 100cm width 45cm depth 30cm . I have seen these speakers , cheap
http : // www . pyleaudio.com/products/Sound-and-Recording/Subwoofers---Midbass
..... else I find ..
If you have tips ide projects ... thanks

you are in Italy get Faital Pro stuff. I can remommend two options:

#1:
15PR400 woofers 15" woofer
HF144 1.4" compression driver
LTH142 1.4" elliptical horn

#2:
15PR400 15" woofer
M5N8-80 5" midrange
HF100 1" compression driver
STH100 1" elliptical horn

in both cases sensitivity will be 99db@1w/1m

Maybe lost in translation, but I was saying that if you look for used drivers in your area, you can build a pair of really good speakers for cheap. Look for pro woofers, mids, and tweeters. I am not selling anything.

That 5" m5n8 - do you have experience with it or some measurements ? I've been looking at it and it looks too good to be true.

While you are exploring diy-designs you could also check for used speakers for a couple months.
You will need to decide between compression driver + horn like Pi-Speakers, or standard dome tweeter.

P.S. The Clare website has several interesting designs....you should be able to find a topology you favor.

SB_Acoustics is considerd a good value in the USA. There are several diy passive crossover designs on the web. I attached one typical 3-way which uses a sealed midbass plus a ported woofer. This example uses :
SB29RDC-4 tweet $52
SB17NRXC35-8 midbass $58
SB23NRX-8 (8" woofer) $94

OPTION:
Dayton Audio DS315-8 (12" woofer) $75

You can construct a single cabinet, or enjoy mixing tops and bottoms. Check your local pricing for the drivers and crossover parts. Compare to a local used speaker.

Depending on what you expect, your knowledge, woodworking, and what you consider cheap for a 3 ways with 15" subwoofer...Basically you can do this STX FX-300 (kolor orzech) - Nag?o?nienie STX + 4x 8" sub => 2 in opposite side in bass-reflex per columns adding 50-70 liters in each, for <200€ of drivers per columns. It should do 25-20khz. They got lot of stuff to do filters too. Really cheap for what it is.

Per column :
2 x 5" carbon cone with a lot of demodulation stuff W.18.180.8.FCX - Nag?o?nienie STX = 46€ x 2
+
dome tweeter with triple demodulation T.10.250.8.PCX - Nag?o?nienie STX = 33,5 €
+
2 x 8" subs : W.20.300.2x2.MC - Nag?o?nienie STX = 26,3€ x 2
= 178€ / column

that was also very interesting to me. I just ordered a pair and I'll report back in a separate thread when it arrived. a 5" driver covering a wide frequency range and 99db efficient?! oh really? let's have a look at it up close and personal! 😀
