Hello all,
I have several questions about audio and making videos using Windows Movie Maker (WMM).
First, it won't let me import a song off a commercial CD because it won't import CDA format. .AIFF, .WAV, .FLAC and a bunch more formats are fine but no CDA.
I read you can use the RIP function in Windows Media Player. I just want the best sound quality and I am not sure that is best.
.FLAC is probaby the best but I don't think I have a converter in XP or what comes with it. Maybe you can recommend a converter I can download. Free would be great!
What I am trying to do is post some songs on YouTube that aren't there, so I can direct to and share them with other guitarists. YT doesn't have a place for audio files so I am going to put a title and artist and album name for 6 seconds and then a picture of the Album cover for the duration of the song on a video using WMM.
Hopefully YT will accept a WMM video with .FLAC audio files or does it get incorporated into the WMA file and that is it? Then it would be Hopefully YT accepts WMA files structured as I have outlined above!
Any comments, ideas and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks all!
Regards//Keith

Well, I can help with the .cda files. You have to copy them to your computer as .wav files first, then use them from there.
Cheers!
Cheers!

Hi Gregg,
I already am nuts!
I like the no DLL or Registry changes but it doesn't convert (as far as I can see) CDA to FLAC files. Just WAV and MP3/4!
Close but no Cuban!
Thanks!

Ummmm, it wasn't about FLAC dude, it was about pulling your .cda files of your disk:
Here's your FLAC:

Enjoy!

Thanks for the .flac hyperlink! It explains a lot of things I didn't know. You'll have to forgive my ignorance as I am just learning the details now and the lines are getting less blurry (thanks to some of your direction)
As I learn more, the answers will become more obvious.
I still have more to learn about using different apps and what gets the best results and what doesn't matter!
You da man! I appreciate the direction.
