TLP S30 lamp wont stay on

Hey im new to this forum and also new to lectronics. I was hoping maybe someone cauld help me out. Something hapened to my LCD projector recently.

Sorry if im posting this in the wrong place.

When i turn it on the lamp comes on stays on for about 15 sec and then goes dark. and then the projector shows red light and turns off soon after.

I took it apart and did a little poking around. For some reaon i think this has soemthing to do with teh lamp circuitry. The voltage towards the lamp starts witha n initial spike and then drops to out somewehre around 40V and then increases steadity till 170-180V and then it just goes dark. I guess the projector attempts to try the lamp again as it does this a couple of times untill the lights go red.

Does anyone know what it may be?

Also in the pictures bellow can you guy tell me what the orange thing is? It actually seems to be yellow but has darkened in teh middle to a darker color. Can that be my problem? maybe overheated and burnet out?

i got the service manual and checked all the voltages going to the power unit/balast and they are all good.

so it seems that the problem is somewhere on that board that i have a picture of. can anyone please help out. the projector is just out of warrantly and service would cost more than it did
