SpeakerWorkshop with no line output

I am trying to use speakerworkshop to design/test diy speakers. I would like to use the program on my laptop - however my laptop (a dell c840) only has speaker output, mic input, and line input- no line ouput. Is there any way I can use speakerworkshop with this computer even though the program mentions a line-output? Thanks alot.

I don't know your laptop. But generally, the computer speakers are designed to go into the Line Out jack of a computer sound card.

Unless your laptop has some kind of special high output speaker jack-I don't even know if such a thing exists on a laptop-then Speaker is the equivalent of Line Out.

A speaker output is different than a line output- a speaker output is amplified so it can be used with non-amplified speakers or with headphones- most desktops have both a line output and a speaker output, however my laptop only has speaker output.

This is more probably a headphone out. I used a IBM laptop to test speaker and it done the job pretty well, and i was using the headphone out.

Just use the "Speaker Out" it will work fine, actually you need all the power you can get out of the sound card for a good strong MLS signal and even then it wont be enough for Far-Field Measurments. Also you will need a Wallin Jig for calibration.
